Grab a paddle and discover Ontario's over 250,000 waterways

Franklin Island and the Mink Islands Trip

The trip starts from Snug Harbour where the group will paddle through narrow channels and past steep rocky cliffs. Your next stop, the south shore of Franklin Island. Where you will break for a picnic lunch and a refreshing swim. Once you have had your fill of good food and relaxation. The group will continue to explore the rugged west shore of the island by sea kayak and set up camp for the night.

After a great breakfast you will be off to the Mink Islands chain. Here you will find fantastic channels and islands to explore. The northern end of the chain contains fascinating vegetation due to the harsh wind swept conditions that Georgian Bay is well known for. The southern end of the Mink Islands hold stands of white pine, cedar and a large variety of shrubs and wild flowers. About 300 meters off Green Island is the wreckage of the Seattle and on a calm day you might be able to see the remains of the steamship that had sank in 1903 during a savage storm.

A Healing Journey on the Bay

The past can have a profound effect upon our lives.  Traumas and events from our childhood, early teens, and early adulthood can cause us to create unhealth patterns within our present lives.  These traumas and events can eventually manifest themselves into chronic physical, mental, and emotional aliments.

During the sea kayaking trip you will learn Peruvian shamanic tools to help balance the energy body of other people, learn how to create sacred space within yourself, cleanse the energy body, and heal your past.

Each day will consist of exploring the surrounding area by kayak, learning and practicing shamanic tools, and reconnecting with Mother Earth.  Private healing sessions will be offered during the trip.

The trip includes all meals, camping equipment, sea kayaks, a shaman kayak guide (Jeff), and shaman's tools.  You will need to bring your personal clothing, a sleeping bag, and snacks.

Trip Date (2016) : August 19 - 21

Trip Price: $540 plus tax
